A Kingston man caught shoplifting at a grocery store fought with security and police before being captured, according to charges filed in court Wednesday. Kenneth Michaels Jr., 39, of 90 Bellas St., is accused of pushing a security guard and struggling with police after being caught stealing at Gerrity's Supermarket at 801 Wyoming Ave. According to the charges, officers responded to the store around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday to a report of shoplifting in progress.
