A major water main break in Kingston forced the closure of many West Side businesses and curtailed operations at the Luzerne County Courthouse on Tuesday as water company crews worked to repair the 126-year-old pipe. The break, at Mercer Avenue and West Walnut Street, affected residents in Kingston as well as Edwardsville and Luzerne and caused the Kingston police administrative offices to close until further notice, police said.
